Facebook without internet.......

Many of you people might be having phone without GPRS or WAP connection, or it may happen that you have been to certain remote place where you can hardly make a call and internet is worlds apart… yes so now moving on to frontline. You might not know that facebook has come with a company named Fonetwish to starting this interesting service. 

There is a good news for all the Facebook freak out there, now you can access your facebook account without internet or any other words no data plan is required to be in touch with your facebook profile…isn’t it really cool!!!! So am going to tell you today how to do this. Now stop being so much excited and read the stuff…

You just have to dial *325# or *fbk# from your mobile phone. You will receive Facebook menu as a reply, so now enter your username and password and proceed further it will help you with all the major features like notifications, news feed, status update, wall posts, manage friends, chat and birthday reminder. The most intresting fact about this service is as cheap as dirt. It just charges Rs 1 per day for unlimited usage.

To unsubscribe is also simple, you just have to dial *325*22# and its done.

Currently this service is live with Airtel, Aircel, Idea, Videcon, Loop and TATA Docomo in India. So go on you facebook freaks….join into the party…

Business card storage made easy...

Right now you might possess so many business card that you might have got pissed off. Every other conference or meeting you attend, you are supposing to share your business cards and vice versa. Off all of those some are really good for nothing while some need to take a special care and to be preserved as it has lot of important value to you…

The first app i tested was Bizsnap from iapp...When you’re ready to snap a photo of the business card, BizSnap puts a guide box on the iPhone screen for you to position the card. The custom Take Photo button is color-coded; when the camera is still and in-focus, it turns from red to green. To recognize the text on the card, the image is actually sent to BizSnap’s servers, which perform the optical character recognition (OCR) and send the data back to your device. The process usually takes no longer than a minute, but obviously requires that your iPhone be online. You can shoot card photos and save the recognition process for later. When your scanned text comes back, BizSnap also scores the quality of your photo. I found that it complained a lot about photos that other apps scanned with ease. Overall, the OCR is acceptable, but noticeably more error prone than some of the apps I tried.

After throwing the useless ones to thrash, you hold so many important ones right?? So this is for all of you out there who want to accumulate all the necessary information relating to business cards. So for this process you need certain apps downloaded to your phone and obviously a normal camera phone.

The next app I tried was Business Card Reader. In a obvious advantage over its competitors, Business Card Reader lets you tap wherever on the screen when you’re photographing cards, which makes taking good pictures easier. When you tap to snap the photo, the app waits until you’re holding still before it actually takes the picture, which is an especially nice touch. Like BizSnap, it shows on-screen markers to help you position the card properly before its close-up.

Once you’ve snapped your photo, Business Card Reader does its OCR scanning right on your iPhone. Scanning takes seconds, and worked with impressive accuracy. Once you’re happy with the information, Business Card Reader offers options to create a new contact, or to merge the new data with an existing contact.

There are many others apps too like World card mobile, Abbyy app etc…you got to highlight this that you got to click your cards in a good brightness and no shadow room or else errors may occur.

Ipad3 Overheating issues

As we reported a while ago, the new iPad, or as we here like to call it, the iPad 3, is suffering from some strange overheating. The Mac forums have been reportedly snowed under by people complaining about odd heat up approaching from the lower left side of the iPad when held in portrait and others tale that the iPad is receiving error messages which make it ineffectual.

 Some tests and benchmarks, which ran for five straight minutes on both the iPad 2 and iPad 3.The results showed that the iPad 3 is indeed 10°F warmer than its ancestor, bringing the whole up to 92.48°F.

On the other hand, Apple claims that the 92.48°F is inside the ordinary thermal levels for the new iPad, and one of the core aspect for the boost in heat would be a higher resolution via the retina display, the A5X chip, 4G LTE support and 10 hours of battery life. The bigger battery is most likely the chief reason in overheating seeing as it is essential to control all of those superfluous features in the new iPad.

Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller spoke out saying:

"I have been using the new iPad for almost two weeks -- a week before it was released to the public -- and I've seen no heat issues. I use my iPad every day over LTE and Wi-Fi, holding it my hand and on my lap and the device doesn't get hot."

There have been a few solutions posted in order to help people out, one coming from user "Techno Mike" which suggests:

"I highly suggest that once you unbox the iPad. Do not charge it; use all the battery until it reaches 0%, completely dead. Freshly charge the iPad and that should do the trick. Yesterday my iPad was massively over heated, I decided to use up all the battery (I suggest doing some hardcore gaming, takes very long to use up the battery) and recharged. Now today I am using the same applications as yesterday and so far, no sign of excessive heating issue. Just lil bit warm which is normal. I have also noticed the battery charges just a bit quicker."

So there you have it, everything seems to be normal at least according to Apple.

Playstation 4

Was sup Guys, Tech Doll’s here to tell you today that Sony is working on the PlayStation 4,which it calls "Orbis," and plans to make public the gadget in time for the holiday season in 2013.

The console can reportedly play 3D games at 1080p resolution, as compared to the PS3's 720p. It apparently won't be backward-compatible with games for the PS3 and will reportedly seek to block owners from playing used games.

Some developers say they've already received development kits for the Orbis.

The PlayStation Orbis will reportedly use an AMD 64-bit CPU (central processing unit) and an AMD Southern Islands GPU (graphical processing unit).

The PlayStation 4's GPU will reportedly be able to display games written for the console at a resolution of up to 4,096 by 2,160. That's four times higher resolution than standard full HD. Screens with this level of resolution have already been unveiled by several vendors, including Sharp, Panasonic and Samsung.

PS4 users will reportedly be able to either download new games off the PlayStation Network (PSN) or purchase them on Blu-Ray discs, much like with PS3.

Sony will reportedly lock out used games on the PS4. Orbis owners who buy games on Blu- Ray discs will in fact have to lock the discs to a single PSN account and save the games to their hard drive, or hook them as "downloaded" in their account history and download them later.

People who purchase pre-owned Blu-Ray discs with PS4 games may be limited to a trial mode or some other restriction of content and will have to pay to have the full game unlocked or registered.

The PS 4's reported lack of backward compatibility may also have been spurred by other considerations. Game developers and publishers often consider used game sales a threat to their bottom lines because they don't make money off the resale, though they often have to continue providing server space to host the game. Sony's move might win it some goodwill in the designer bionetwork.

Indeed, Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 720 will also reportedly not be compatible with used games.

So that leaves up with some good and some bad speculations from the house of Sony. What will ideally happen is a question of time.

Blackberry 10 O.S

Hi guys, this is Tech Doll and I’m here today to give you some dope on the new Blackberry 10 OS.

Research In Motion, the company in charge for construction BlackBerry phones will soon give software developers prototype devices that run an early version of the BlackBerry 10 platform.  RIM is hosting a BlackBerry 10 event in Orlando in May which will coincide with its annual BlackBerry World user conference. There, a limited number of developers will have the chance to cooperate around with the product. The company has already encouraged developers to grab one of the 2,000 developer spots in order to let developers push the sales of the diminishing BB podium and bring in some modernisms to an otherwise boring phone system. Giving prototypes to developers so far in advance of its consumer release, then, is a way to make sure that developers and customers remember that there's a device on its way from the company.

Although RIM said the prototype, labeled "BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha," is not going to be the completed smartphone projected for consumers, the revamped BlackBerry line is expected to launch in late 2012.

The smartphone maker is facing stiff competition from competing platforms like Apple's iOS and Google's Android. RIM is expected to release its latest quarterly earnings on Thursday, and that data will be indicating how it's fared against those rivals over the past three months.

Although everyone does think that BB might be a dying OS, this might bring in a glimmer of hope and might thump in new life into what looks like a candle in the wind right now.

Competitive pressures from not only Apple but what Google is doing with Android, and the recent moves with Microsoft by Nokia, all of those competitive issues are putting pressure on them to get their spec up, and early designs up in hopes they can still get some attention.

While the prototypes might generate some buzz for BlackBerry 10, especially among developers, I worry RIM has already lost crucial parts of some of it’s originally core markets, including the corporate market.

So its finger crossed for the new blackberry 10 o.s ….hope it doesn’t show a decline therein…

Wassup Techies, I’m Tech Doll and I’m gonna talk about the latest Nokia OS, the Symbian Carla, or maybe Nokia might just call it Nokia Carla, considering that they renamed Symbian Belle to Nokia Belle.
The upcoming update to the mobile Nokia OS, carrying the codename "Carla", showed up in screenshots on Nokianesa. The screenshots don't show much, however, you can get a taste of what the update is going to bring.
First, there's the new on-screen qwerty keybord, which seems to have been inspired by its Windows Phone cousin. The Nokia Browser has also been updated to a new version, which features some new and enhanced UI improvements.
But the most noticeable change comes from the lock screen. Gone is the classic Unlock Button, and replacing it is a Swipe to unlock method. The user interface of the Music player also sees some improvements in the form of a refreshed UI, as does the Options screen, which borrows the looks of the Meego Harmattan UI. Alhough seeing an Android wallpaper on Symbian Carla leaks was kinda a bummer.
The Nokia Carla OS update is reportedly destined for the Nokia 700, 701, 603 and the Nokia 808 Pureview. Unfortunately, the update won't be coming for the 1st generation Symbian^3 phones such as the Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6-01, since minimum system requirements will be benchmarked at a minimum of a 1 GHZ processor.
